Course Objectives

Participants will:

  • Learn about the essential of project control and the triple constraints of a project
  • Understand the concepts of Earn Value Management and the importance of EVM
  • Learn the essential of a proper project management plan and baselines
  • Learn about the difference in perspective between “Clients”, PM Consultants, and Contractors
  • Understand the differences between fixed price and cost plus contract
  • Learn how to manage each type of contracts and areas to focus on (from client perspective)
     

DESCRIPTION

This course is similar to the SUKAD Project Control Workshop and covers similar topics but it is at a higher level and does not get into as many practical applications. The course covers project control and earned value management essential concepts and general techniques. The focus of the course is on the essentials of having accurate plans that would be used to assess performance during the project in addition to having the proper tools to help the team establish these accurate plans. In addition, the course will covers the steps of project control, change management (objectives, project, and contract changes/variations), and the importance of having timely and accurate forecast. The course is in-line with international standards, such as the Project Management Institute and the Association for Advancement of Cost Engineers International.
