2SPI-CSR
What is 2SPI?
2SPI stands for SUKAD™ Social and Professional Initiatives and it is the SUKAD™ version of Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR). We chose to have our version of CSR for the following reasons:
- At SUKAD™ we view the word "initiatives" as stronger and more action oriented term than responsibility.
- SUKAD™ is a professional organization specializing in an emerging profession, which is Project Management. Therefore, we view our responsibilities as not limited to social matters in a given local community; rather we also assume a responsibility for the growth of the emerging profession of Project Management, locally, regionally, and globally.
- SUKAD™ executive management strongly believes in the relevance of Project Management as a catalyst of change for social and professional growth in our community.
-
About 2SPI?
Combining the earlier factors, SUKAD™'s intent is to capitalize on its global expertise in Project Management for carrying out our social and professional initiatives where the professional initiatives deal with education and awareness of Project Management and social initiatives is what we call, Managing Life Projects, regardless of what they might be. Therefore, 2SPI is about:
- SUKAD™ will work with not-for-profit organizations, foundations, and similar establishments where we can provide services to them and their members on a pro bono (complimentary) or deeply discounted basis. Under this category, we have already established relations with two prestigious organizations in the United Arab Emirates, one is Dubai based and the other one is Abu Dhabi based; Mohammed Bin Rashed Establishment for Young Business Leaders and Emirates Foundation Tawteen Program.
- Partner with regional organizations where we offer lectures and knowledge sharing events to the community also on a complimentary basis. We have already conducted many events in this regard in partnership with various organizations primarily Dubai Knowledge Village as a main partner but also with Dubai Women College, ADNOC Distribution, Hamdan bin Mohammed eUniversity (previously eTQM), and the Lebanese Order of Engineers and Architects.
- Advocacy of Project Management by supporting the Global Project and Process Management Association (GPPMA) a not-for-profit professional association that SUKAD™ CEO and a group of outstanding volunteers founded in the United Arab Emirates in 2008 with the support, backing, and sponsorship of Dubai Knowledge Village. SUKAD™ continues to support GPPMA and its activities.
- Mentorship Program: SUKAD™ has actively participated with the Hult International Business School this past year to work with six MBA students. Our CEO is currently volunteering to mentor other MBA students for the 2009-2010 school year.
- Speaking at various institutes, conferences, and events to promote the profession of Project Management; our speaking engagements included numerous Project Management conferences in Europe, North and South America and the Middle East.
- There are many future initiatives that we plan, which we will announce in due time.
-
